Daily loss limit

How much you can lose in a day, and exactly how it is measured.

The daily loss limit caps how much you can lose in a single day. It is the most common breach, so here is exactly how it works.

How it is measured

Atlas Futures (Volumetrica): checked at the end of day from your balance at the open of each trading day. Intraday spikes do not breach you — only your closing balance counts.

Atlas CFD (MT5 / TradeLocker): resets at 00:00 UTC and is measured on the higher of your balance or equity at the reset, including open floating (unrealized) losses. A live countdown shows the reset time on your dashboard.

Worked example

On a $100,000 CFD account with a 5% daily limit, your equity may not fall more than $5,000 below the day baseline (the higher of your opening balance or equity). On a $50,000 account that is $2,500; on $25,000 it is $1,250.

Because floating losses count on CFD, an open trade in deep loss can breach you before you close it. A momentary dip below the floor is a breach even if price later recovers.

Frequently asked questions

Does the daily limit use balance or equity?
On CFD it uses the higher of the two at the reset, including floating P&L. On Futures it is your end-of-day balance.
When does it reset?
CFD resets at 00:00 UTC; Futures is measured at the daily close.
If I dip below the limit but recover, is it a breach?
On CFD yes — the limit is a hard floor measured continuously. On Futures only your end-of-day balance is checked.
